time warp: week 3 of Junior Year, year 20 of Caitlin Rose
The first two weeks of school have come and gone, and I’m beginning to find a rhythm to the days. I have a schedule I can work around, and more importantly eat and sleep around, which is huge since those things tend to fall by the wayside once classes start back up. I’m taking three big art courses; one in game design, one in electronic instillation, and one in black and white film photography (so far my favorite.) I’m thinking of taking a photo minor. I’m cooking full meals every other day. I’ve toned down the DS-addiction.
And oh yes; I turned 20 yesterday.
It’s still too soon for 20 to feel any different from 19, but it does have a sense of weight and gravity, doesn’t it? 19 is teenager, in definition; 20 is two decades old. 20 is the nebulous area in between teenager and adult; not old enough to drink, but stuck in that horrible realm of “responsibility.”
Yeesh.
IN OTHER NEWS MORE PERTINENT TO AN ART BLOG;
1. My first game design project will be a Rear Window-esque text(and sound)-based adventure where the narrator is listening to the sounds in the apartment above him/her, and forms conclusions based on the player’s developing paranoia.
2. Electronic instillation doesn’t seem to have a real artsy project yet, but I will get back to you.
3. B&W photo has so far yielded some deliciously gothic photograms involving my great grandmother’s old jewlery, a couple of fox skulls and a tulle skirt. iamsoclichebutwhocaresitwasfun. They should be online shortly. <3
4. I AM IN A COMIC SHOW WITH 3 OTHER PEOPLE. THERE WILL BE AT LEAST 3 COMICS BY OCTOBER. ONE OF THEM IS CALLED “CRAB DIP”. SO EXCITED.

Rose out.
That game sounds like a REALLY cool idea. I approve.
Thanks!
I’ve got a beta version done already; all visuals and narrative is down pat. I was having trouble with sound so it’s temporarily on the back burner, since the project went over perfectly well in class without it.
Can I see it some time?
Sure thing!
